While perusing the Private Sale at Bloomingdale’s I came across a fabulous little ditty: a Marc by Marc Jacobs Flash Kelsey Cross Body Bag. Originally this bag was going for close to $400, but I was lucky enough to scoop that baby up on sale with a coupon for $190. Perfect little summer bag, even if I do say so myself!

Green Scene
I’ve been on the market for a new nail polish color for some time now. All my old polishes just weren’t doing it for me anymore. Then, I came across Pretty Edgy by Essie… and I LOVE IT!

I'm BAAAAAACK!
Ok, SO I’ve been MIA for quite some time now. My new goal is to update this ish on the reg. I’d like to get back into the swing of things with some fetch Yankee gear, in honor of the passing of one of the greats. Unfortunately, today, George Steinbrenner suffered a massive heart attack and passed away at the age of 80. To shed some light on such a horrible circumstance, I’ve decided to post some pics of some Yankee Shirts, for sale at Walmart, which benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. While normally I would want nothing to do with Walmart as I am more of a Target kinda gal, I had to pick up 1 or 2 shirts. What?!? It’s for a good cause!!

Go Shorty, It's Ya Birfday!
My Grandmother’s 90th Birthday is coming up and as with any major birthday, we’ve prepared a surprise party! In addition, I’ve been diligently working on a sign in book that consists of pages of pictures of my grandmother from her 90 years thus far on this earth. I’ve been scanning them into the computer, editing them and then loading them onto layouts on snapfish.com. While the scanning and editing part totally sucked, it actually has been a lot of fun asking my grandmother about each of the pictures and learning the story that goes with them. I also have to highly recommend snapfish.com as the book arrived at my house in perfect condition 2 days after I ordered it!
“It's like that book I read in the 9th grade that said 'tis a far far better thing doing stuff for other people”
It’s better to give, than receive … ish. I’d be lying if I said that I’d rather give a gift than get one. With that being said, those that know me know that I do love finding the most perfect gift when giving. I enjoy the little joys I get out of finding the best gift. I often put a lot of thought and energy into it, wrapping it so perfectly that the outward appearance is almost as good as the inward. This past week I attended the Bloomingdale’s “Private Sale” pre – sale, scoring a deal on a great Marc by Marc Jacobs bag. The minute I laid my eyes on it, I knew it would be a great birthday present for my pal, Andria. Throw in some totally fetch MAC cosmetics and bammo: the perfect gift!

Greg Giraldo is one of my favorite comedians. He is so funny. He delivers his jokes the best of anyone I’ve ever seen and his rants are off the wall. A huge group of us go to see him whenever he is in town. I can’t get enough! You can imagine how pleased I was when I saw that he released a new CD and DVD, Midlife Vices, last October! I immediately special ordered both and I am eagerly looking forward to watching/listening!
I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream for ICE CREAM!
Lately I’ve been doing what I have to, to get this bod in shape; however when Baskin Robin’s has 31 cent scoop night, I’m all over it! The place was a mob scene … and rightfully so. I got myself a nice little 3 scoop medley of Oreo Cookies and Cream, Cookie Dough, and Reeses Peanut Butter Swirl, then raced back home for a glass of milk and an few episodes of The Office. A nice little Wednesday indeed!
Heaven Let Your Light Shine Down ...
We recently renovated our kitchen and slowly, we are putting the final touches on it. I have been in search of a chandelier that fits our style, goes with our personality and pulls the space together, giving off a decent amount of light. Our kitchen has kind of a rustic, cozy feel and once I laid my eyes on this puppy, I knew it was ideal for our space. I absolutely love it!
Getin' My Face On
Two times a year I am lucky enough to score passes to the Estee Lauder Warehouse sale on Long Island. They have the best deals on MAC, Clinique, Bumble and Bumble, DKNY perfumes and much, much more. After hours of searching and narrowing my choices down, I left with a select few items. I can’t say the same of my mom though, who walked away yet again, spending a small fortune!

UV Me UP!
I promised a follow up on the UV Gel nail polish so here it is … DO IT, DO IT!! I am going on week #3 and these babies still look as good as day #1! With regular nail polish I BARELY make it to DAY 3 without it chipping. I gotta say $25 well spent!
MMM MMMM Good!
For my Aunt’s Birthday we all went to Shiro and filled our faces with some of the finest dining I’ve had in a while. Fire explosions, Shirley Temples, and Rice Hearts exploded all over the scene. Afterwards, we went to Delia’s house for coffee and cake. I was responsible for picking up dessert, as per ush. While at Carvel getting the ice cream cake that we all go wild for, I came across this little ditty and my life was changed! So attractive, so delicious, so awesome!
Comparing Apples to Oranges
I love Target. I often go there with the intention of picking up one item and I walk out spending an entire paycheck. It’s never a five minute trip to Target either. Once I get there, it’s like a vortex of time. I get lost in all the fun stuff and all of the things I never even knew I needed. Well, you can imagine how excited I was to hear that the Target Stores on Long Island would soon be expanding their grocery section to include produce. You can imagine how even more excited I was when they broke ground and began working on the first store. And finally, how excited I am now, that the first store’s produce section is finished! The store near my office is chock full of fruits and veggies and while I have to wait for the store near my home to finish their construction, I am overjoyed just thinking about doing all my shopping in one place!

Bring Caesar Back
Ever since the first moment I wrapped my mouth around Taco Bell’s Chicken Caesar Grilled Stuff Burrito life was never the same. It was like a little cloud of Heaven bursting with Oh Holy goodness. Sadly though, the Burritos time was short lived and I have a better chance of J Tims bringing sexy back than T Bell bring Caesar back…

Talking Baseball... Andy, Mo and Jeter, Yankees Baseball ...
Baseball season is finally upon us and I am beyond psyched. It’s been 5 long months since I’ve enjoyed a hot dog, fries, a gorgeous evening and 5 hours worth of baseball… and what a better way to open the season then at that hell hole, Fenway Park. Now, opening day just so happens to fall on the same day the Big JC resurrected, meanwhile the rest of the league has to wait until tomorrow, and in my opinion, that means something. I did enjoy Easter Sunday in a sweet little number, but was sure to change into office Yankee gear for the big game. This year, I can support my team in fetch sweats and comfy hoodies as Victoria’s Secret came out with the Exclusive Pink Major League Baseball Collection. While some of items are a little too south shore for me, others I will definitely be sporting in honor of my team. I’m just happy that it is now socially acceptable to wear sweats to the games!

Soild as a Rock
My future sister-in-law’s nails always look perf. She informed me that she pays $40 every other week for a UV Gel manicure and I thought to myself aiiiichhheeee mama. But after seeing how perfectly polished her nails ALWAYS look and hearing so much about this UV Gel ish, wanted to give it a whirl. My friend, and Manicurist, Angela, called me Friday afternoon to inform me that they finally got the UV Gel manicure supplies and knowing that I am always down to try new things (IE: matte finish polish, OPI Suede Polish, Moon Manicure, ect) asked if I would be interested in giving it a go. Charging $25, a descent amount less than most, I went for it. The process is a little different than a regular manicure and once it’s finished, it’s dry and you’re good to go. There’s no wasting time waiting for your polish to dry. My salon only has in 12 colors, mostly pinks and corals, but a few dark colors: Russian Navy and Lincoln Park After Dark, which, from what I hear is an average amount to have in. If it catches on; hopefully the color selection will improve. Now begins the 2 observation. I will be checking it daily and will report back in 2 weeks.
Beans, Beans they're good for your heart ...
I was recently flipping through a Bloomingdale’s catalog and something caught my eye... A nice little piece of art that reinforces the importance of a balanced diet. I decided to recreate this for my kitchen. Using “dotum” font in Microsoft word, I created the phrase “Eat More Fiber”, so that it read like an eye chart. I printed it out in thick, white cardstock paper. Then, using a 50% off coupon to Michael’s, which I printed from their website, I purchased a tan, double layer matte (lucky for me, it was on clearance) and a black frame. I put them all together and violá …
In The Summa Time When The Weather is High ...
With the smell of summer in the air, I’m doing all I can to rope it in … asap! Don’t get me wrong, I like the winter and I LOVE the fall, but after the holidays, I’m over it… And lets be honest, no one does summer quite like New Yorkers. With the first glimpse of a lil sunlight and temperatures above 60 degrees, everyone was out in full bloom. The kids on the block were running wild with their jump ropes, balls and bats and bicycles, and I thought to myself, “why do they get all the fun?!?”. Billy and I quickly dusted off our beach cruisers and the mission began … Were making Westbury a Beach Town … either you’re with us or you’re against us.
Waffer Thin
A friend of mine from work, Doreen, is always cooking up fabulous dishes and brining me in even cooler snacks. Knowing I’m trying to drop some lbs, Doreen recently brought me in a package of Cannon Cakes. According to the nutrition label, I can eat the entire bag of these and still have dessert without feeling guilty! But I don’t. I’ve decided to incorporate it INTO my dessert! I cover one of the wafers in a coating of peanut butter. I then cut up a banana, drizzle a like honey over it and sprinkle it with cinnamon and then … bon appetite

De - Lish!
I like my dudes fast, and my meals, even faster. So, you can imagine how pleased I was with myself when I concocted this little ditty. It takes a total of maybe 20 minutes to cook, from beginning to end… and that includes cutting the chicken AND the veggies!
Continuously rotate back and forth between the chicken and the veggies stirring them up so that they do not burn. Around 2 mins before they are finished cooking, add 3 – 4 table spoons of Taco Seasoning to the chicken and about 2 tea spoons of low sodium teriyaki sauce to the vegetables. Continue to stir.
After about 10 mins remove the rice from the pot of boiling water. Cut the bag open and pour about a half cup each into 2 bowls. Then layer the chicken and the vegetables on top, mix and you have yourself a nice little stir fry. Holler!
First, I throw a bag of Uncle Ben’s boil in a bag, brown rice into a pot of boiling water. While that’s doing it thing, I take the package of chicken that I already cut up into cubes and put it into a pan that’s coated in a thin layer of olive oil on the stove.

Honey I Shrunk the Lappy
When it comes to all things cool, I often turn to my pal Sharifa. We have the same taste in clothing, food and more importantly, technology. You can imagine how I jelly I was when she waltz into the office with a brand new hp mini. So, sleek and pretty, and tiny enough to fit into a tote, I need to have one. It comes in a fabulous blue color that would go perfectly with my phone, water bottle and ipod case… This weekend Sharifs gets the ipad … I’m intrigued.

So Cal
My sister may currently be residing in Boston, but she is still a So Cal bro, 909er at heart! She is currently working at Oakley and I do have to say I love the perks! I was delighted when she came home for the weekend with a sweet treat for myself. My sister was so kind as to bring me a white pair of Jupiter sunnys with 24 Karat Iridium lenses. Classic Ker!

Like Hitting the Lottery!
The chances of one snow day a year are pretty slim to none, but the chances of TWO?!? Well that's unheard of! But with the weather such a hot mess, my office was forced to close once again! Ahhh mama likes! Billy, Brad and I are going to try and get some saucy photos for our "Save the Dates". Afterwards I plan on stirring up some more hot chocolate, draping myself in a brand new pair of VS Boyfriend Sweats (theres nothing like a brand new pair of sweats), grabbing my warmest over sized blanket and watching some old Gossip Girl DVDs with the pooch while Billy finishes up some work! Let it snow ... Let it snow ... Let is snow!
Green with Envy!
With Valentine's Day come and gone, it's time to move on to more of a, I don't want to say "real", but I will, real Holiday: St. Patrick's Day!! I was eager to pop into the candy store and purchase all sorts of green candy! My mom, still on her Lindt Chocolate kick, was kind enough to get me Mint Chocolate balls and Milk Chocolate bricks in green wrapping. I then shot up to Dyan's Candy Bar and 23 bones later I had enough candy to fill half the jars ... womp, womp, womp. I still think the display looks dead sexy on my counter top and the Green Apple Gummy O's are so delightful I doubt they'll make it to March, let alone St. Patrick's Day! I did some surfing of the web and came across this fabulous site that has colored candies for every occasion! Done and Done!
Richard Simmon's: EAT YOUR HEART OUT!!
When my mom called and asked me to go to the gym with her, I have to admit, I was a little disappointed that I wasn't going to be able to make it. But when they say God works in mysterious ways, they really mean it!! After my mom banged out a sweet gym sesh, she decided to stop by my house. My immediate reaction was "where the eff are her pants?!?" After finding out that this was her gym attire, I knew that the Big JC had my back. Never again will I make plans to meet CMac at the gym!

So, mi madre recently took a major interest in Lindt Chocolate and their sale and somehow became besties with a woman that works at the store. As a result: Chocolate for ALL!! My mom made up these totally fetch lil baskets of pure goodness for my sister and I ... needless to say we did NOT need them! These fabulous little Valentine's Day ball are like droplets of Heaven. I do recommend trying them and rocking your world.

Valentine's Day ... GROSS!! Not a day that I choose to partake in; however, those that know me, know, that I am not one to pass up on an opportunity to receive gifts! Never would I celebrate with a cheesy dinner or any mushy garbage. Instead, my lova got me a neon green pair of Air Max 2009 and told me to hit the gym! XoXo
2.12.10
For those of you that didn't know, in addition to traveling back to 1999 and starting a blog, 2010 encouraged me to turn over a new, nutritious, leaf and become quite the health nut. With 1 month down and 8lbs shed, I like to think things have been going ok. I don't know why, but my new gym clothes are totally motivating me to hit the gym on the reg (and that sweet little reimbursement I get if I hit the minimum requirements). This could be because my old gym clothes consisted of cut off sweat pants and an XL t- shirt that was most likely a free bee from a basketball tourney I participated in when I was like 12, causing me to look as cool as Robyn in the gym episode of How I Met Your Mother. Either way, I've been doing the damn thing! At this point in time I am head over heels in love with the NIKE Air Max 2009 and although its 2010 they continue to come out with new styles and fetch colors that I can not get enough of! I received a pair back in July for my birthday and I have to say that they are probably the most comfortable work out shoe I have ever had. I am currently loving the neon green and the hot pink shoes and am contemplating purchasing both on a whim!

It's Official: TOMORROW IS A SNOW DAY!!! And in honoring that snow day, which was decided before a flurry even fell, my mom and I decided to hit up Roosevelt Field Mall. Ahhhh the simple joys ...
I first hit up American Eagle to exchange a pair of jeans my sister had gotten me for Christmas. One skirt, a pair of shorts, a necklace top and a pair of jeans later I was off to the next store, and the next store and the next store. I picked up an amazing Bare Minerals Bronzer, warmth, and a new Clinque face cream with an SPF of 25. Gotta do what ya gotta do to protect that skin. After picking up a few more items and scoping out MAC cosmetics new Spring 2010 line, I came across a fabulous North Face Parka Jacket at Nordstrom's. Not only was it the perfect size and color, it was on the clearance rack! I am happy to say, "I scooped that baby up!"
